Emmanuel Atenga is a Journalist by profession with over 10 years’ experience. He is currently the AFAAS Communications, Information and Knowledge Management (CIKM) Officer. He is responsible to coordinate Communications and Knowledge management activities within AFAAS network.
Within the global network, he is also member of the Steering Committee and Co-leader of Work Package 6 of PROIntensAfrica - European Union funded research project on sustainable intensification of African Agro-food systems – and the Global Partnership on Nutrient Management (GPNM) Communications Task Team in partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and Global Programme of Action for the Protection of the Marine Environment from Land-based Activities (GPA).
He holds a Professional Post Graduate Diploma in Communication specialisation in Journalism combined with Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communication specialisation in Journalism from the Advanced School of Mass Communication (ASMAC), Cameroon.
He has worked with various international organizations like the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali, African Union Advisory Board on Corruption, Catholic Relief Services and International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Regional Representation for Central Africa. He has also worked as civil servant journalist at the Ministry of Communication in Cameroon.
