Samson Eshetu Lemma is Agricultural Extensionist by profession and currently working at AFAAS as “Program Officer” since 1st June 2014. He is an Ethiopian. He holds MSc. in Agricultural Education and Extension from Sokoine University of Agriculture, Tanzania, BSc. Agricultural Extension from the Alemaya University, Ethiopia, and Diploma in Plant Science from Jimma College of Agriculture, Ethiopia. Currently he is pursuing his PhD at Sokoine University of Agriculture, Tanzania since 2011. He has attended several on the job-training in the areas of Participatory Rural Appraisal, Teaching skills, Scientific and research proposal writing, Web 2.0 for Development, Integrated Agricultural Research for Development (IAR4D) Concept and set-Up Innovation Platforms. He has served seven years in the Ministry of Agriculture, Ethiopia and eight years in teaching, research and community outreach programs at Haramaya University.
In addition he has worked in different research, training, and consultancy works with different local and international organizations and published his works in journals and book chapters. Besides, he has served as AFAAS Board member representing Eastern Africa region and Country Forum Focal Person in Ethiopia from 2010 to 2012. Currently, he is a member of the GFRAS consortium on the “New Extensionist” since September, 2014. His areas of expertise and interest are agricultural extension and advisory services in general and facilitation of multi-stakeholders platform, capacity development, knowledge management, and agricultural innovations systems in particular.
