Representatives of Agricultural Advisory Services of Côte d’Ivoire met in Abidjan on March 30, 2019 during the constitutive General Assembly of the Forum for Agricultural and Rural Advisory of Côte d’Ivoire (FOCAR-CI). At the end of the Assembly that brought together 22 founder members, rules, procedure and statutes of the new multi-stakeholders platform were adopted. A Steering Committee that will lead FOCAR-CI has 13 members, chosen from different sectors. This Committee, chaired by ANADER, will be responsible for the following:
– Raise awareness among stakeholders of Agricultural and Rural Advisory, with a view to join FOCAR-CI;
– Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate the Workplan and the annual budget approved by the General Assembly;
– Contribute to the organization of the 4th Africa Wide Agricultural Extension Week (to be held in Abidjan);
– Provide FOCAR-CI with an administrative manual, financial procedures and a charter;
The Country Forum of Côte d’Ivoire was thus established pending its official launch.
