Launch of the Eastern Africa Field Schools Support Hub
The potential long-term success and sustainability of the FFS programme outcomes are strongly influenced by a sense of ownership among the parties involved at different levels, both locally and nationally. The creation of an enabling environment for institutional support, that is conducive to transformative and people-centred approaches, is essential in order to intensify efforts, improve quality, and strengthen impact and continuity. The current FS hub will be hinged to key elements of sustainability. Therefore, as a process of establishment and institutionalisation, AFAAS Secretariat in partnership with Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) with financial support from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) are organising a regional launch event for the FS Hub.

i. Present to stakeholders the current status of Field School implementation in the region
ii. Raise awareness of the FS Hub and its implementation strategy among stakeholders
iii. Provide a platform for stakeholders to share country experiences and lessons in institutionalisation of FS;
iv. Plan the next steps of operationalisation of the FS Support Hub.
