The Malawi Forum for Agricultural Advisory Services (MaFAAS) is organizing the 2018 MaFAAS Extension Week from 18th to 22nd June 2018 in Lilongwe. The fourth edition of MaFAAS Extension Week will be held under the theme: ‘‘Energizing extension and advisory services for sustainable agricultural transformation adaptive to climate change’’. During this five-day event, participants will be interacting on the following six different sub-themes: Resilience and climate change mitigation, Extension financing, Coordination, collaboration and accountability, Value chain and farmer organization, Innovation in extension service delivery, and Agriculture related policies and legislation.
The MaFAAS Extension Week is a sharing event aimed at providing maximum time to stakeholders in extension and advisory services from Malawi and beyond to share experiences and lessons, network, exhibit innovations, discuss critical issues and develop an action plan to address the issues. This is a departure from the one to two day MaFAAS workshops which were held from 2011 to 2014 in which stakeholders expressed the need for more time for this annual gathering. The first Extension Week was held in 2015, followed by 2016 and 2017 Extension Weeks.
The Malawi Forum for Agricultural Advisory Services (MaFAAS) is an umbrella body for agricultural extension and advisory services in Malawi.
